Vrøvl - Nonsens

I've been asked to translate this reciepe to American so I'll have a go at it

Vrøvl - would translated be "Nonsens", and are Little sweet cookies, that's been made in Denmark for generations; usually at around Christmas, but it really is an "all-year-round"-cookie.
Here's what you'll need and what to do:

0.55 Pounds of regular flour (not self-raising)
2.6 ounces of butter (regular real butter)
2.1 ounces of sugar
1 tea spoon of carbamate
1 table spoon af cream (real cream  -the kind used for whipping)
1 Egg - medium to large.

Knead it all well together and if possible let it rest in the fridge over night where you take it out and knead it right away.

Roll out the dough to about 0.2 inches thick. Cut it out in different shapes and place them on a baking sheet.

Bake them in the oven at about 392 Degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 minutes - or till just before they turn light Brown.

Let them cool of completely and decorated them with frosting made of icing sugar (confessionairs sugar) and warm Water and different food colors (I always use coloring paste). You can also add sugar balls or other edible decorations.

Bon appetit.

  1. Hej

"Carbamate" skal nok erstattes med udtrykket "Ammonium bicarbonate" eller "Salt of Hartshorn" - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ammonium_bicarbonate.
"Carbamate" på merriam-webster.com: "especially : one that is a synthetic organic insecticide".
